Yes, the notes took a couple of weeks off. Yes, they have returned with a vengance (ok, not really). But they are back...Made my first trip to the New Yankee Stadium with Cheryl on Saturday and boy were we impressed. I loved it (well, I am a Yankees fan) so you kinda figured that,right? Thanks to Rock Cats Prez Bill Dowling, we had lower level seats about 25 rows back down the first base line.

Who Says Defense doesn't win Championships ???


So, what were you thinking when it was 20-12 Stanford at the Half Tuesday Night ?? There were plenty of quizical looks on press row at the half. But this team gutted out a great team win to beat Stanford and win their 2nd straight undefeated National Championship. It won't go down as a classic, but you don't get style points for winning basketball.

Former UConn Forward Donyell Marshell


Longtime NBA forward Donyell Marshall is joining George Washington as an assistant coach. The school announced Thursday that Marshall will replace Brian Ellerbe, who resigned to become an assistant coach at DePaul.

Huskies Face Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame Twice in Coming Season


The University of Connecticut will host nine home games in the Big East Conference in the coming men's basketball season in the league's 18-game conference schedule,  and nine away games.  The Huskies will play three teams in the conference -- Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame --  both home and away.

UConn Names 2010 Football Co-Captains


University of Connecticut Head Coach Randy Edsall has named the captains of the 2010 football Huskies.  Senior linebacker Scott Lutrus of Brookfield, Conn., and senior fullback Anthony Sherman of North Attleboro, Mass.   ,  will repeat as co-captains,  along with senior lineman Zach Hurd of Waterford,  Conn.,  and junior defensive lineman Kendall Reyes of Nashua,N.H.

UConn Announced 2010 Football Schedule


The UConn Huskies will open their 2010 football season at Michigan Saturday, Sept. 4.   The UConn Athletics Department released the fall schedule at noon today.  The home season starts the following Saturday,  Sept 11,   as the Texas Southern Tigers visit Rentschler.
